Scientist at the Department of Photonic Networks and Systems, Fraunhofer HHI, and Co-Founder & CEO of LUXONNIC — developing high-capacity THz wireless systems and photonic neural transceivers for 6G network and AI-infrastructure integration.
I am a Scientist at the Fraunhofer Institute for Telecommunications, Heinrich Hertz Institute (HHI), Berlin, within the Department of Photonic Networks and Systems, where I have been working since July 2021. In parallel, my PhD (Dr.-Ing.) at Technische Universität Berlin (TUB) is titled “Experimental Investigations of High-Capacity THz Wireless Links Using Probabilistic Constellation Shaping.”
My research focuses on high-capacity Terahertz (THz) wireless communications and their integration into next-generation 6G photonic network infrastructures. I develop advanced DSP algorithms for rate-adaptive THz links and conduct experimental characterisation of photonic transmitter components for probabilistically shaped, high-speed THz wireless transmission beyond 100 Gbit/s.
Alongside my research role, I serve as a University Lecturer at HTW Berlin and BHT Berlin, covering communications engineering and signal processing at Bachelor’s and Master’s level.
Since March 2026, I have been co-founding LUXONNIC together with colleagues at Fraunhofer HHI, where I serve as Co-Founder & CEO. Developed within the HHI Department of Photonic Networks and Systems, LUXONNIC is building the LUXONNICore — a photonic integrated circuit that replaces power-hungry digital signal processors in AI data-center optical transceivers with an optical neural network, targeting up to 30× higher energy efficiency — and has submitted a funding proposal to the BMFTR xG-Incubator programme.
